The travel and event industry have been the ones to bear the brunt of the global COVID-19 lockdown, but the industry spirit has not been broken. In fact, we are witnessing a record number of new and innovative ways to meet and connect virtually.
One such example is the newly launched PlanetIMEX virtual meeting experience, designed to provide event industry professionals: “high quality education, business and networking value.” IMEX’s initiative to provide a new and inspiring space for industry professionals to talk, interact and engage is a fine example of how the industry is adapting to these new circumstances and looking for ways to improve their services.
PlanetIMEX is an experimental effort to create a brand-new meeting environment virtually, featuring activities on three 3D, interactive islands; A beach-themed Community Island; A forest-inspired Education Island and a Networking Island surrounded by canyons, mountains and valleys.
Are You Prepared for the Industry Changing?
While all of this is going down, we are entering a new age of meeting, one filled with both on-site as well as online events, not to mention hybrid events. With virtual events evolving and changing, we are looking at a whole new way to engage online. With the promise of a 3D engagement forum such as PlanetIMEX, it seems unavoidable that sooner or later also our material and input will become more visual, more 3D, more substantial. Whereas before we used to use PowerPoint, PDF Brochures and Image galleries, 3D virtual site inspections will become an integral part of the RFP process during lockdown to more comprehensively communicate the value of a property. Planning and inspecting will, for the time being, all be virtual, and site inspection webinars will surely solidify their status in the industry during lockdown.
In order to support the industry efforts during lockdown, Visualizer has made the Visualizer Starter product available for free for the period of 3 months to be used during PlanetIMEX and during the lockdown. With the hotel’s existing pictures and videos, participating venues and hotels can now upgrade from PDF and Video presentations to a MICE compliant virtual site visit tool, which enables the attendees to virtually walk through any meeting space during PlanetIMEX side events and webinars. It is available from Visualizer, is ready for use within a week, and free-of-charge for the next 3 months. Contact us here to get started.
